Yesterday at dusk a first winter Harris’s Sparrow was seen three times in 10 minutes visiting a roadside scatter of seeds on the ground at the edge the north side of Willbruck Drive, Ault Island, across from fence at house 14122. Info from a local birder led us to believe it may have been present for a while. We observed it approaching from and returning to from a tangle of brush behind the seed scatter. Three American Tree Sparrows were also present.
Willbruck Drive is off Ault Island Road, south from HWY 2 just east of Upper Canada Village. H/T to Jacques Bouvier Geof and Anne Burbidge. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
