A single Boreal Chickadee was heard calling but not singing on the Strong/Joly
boundary road. It has been 4 years since I last heard a bird at this location.
This morning I located a total of 6 Black-backed Woodpeckers 4 males and 2
females. All 4 males were very vocal and 3 actively drumming both females were
found feeding nearby a drumming male.
Other birds of interest a male Spruce Grouse (Peacock Road) and my first of
the year singing Brown Creeper.
White-winged Crossbills present but less song than a week ago. Pine Siskins in
full song and present at almost every stop.

Today I covered the, Strong/Joly Boundary road, Peacock Road, Airport Road
and Sand Hill Road.
Sundridge is located between Huntsville and North Bay on Hwy 11, Joly township
is located East of Sundridge and the above mentioned roads would be NE of
Sundridge. All roads are on google maps.
