Brendan Boyd just (August 24) emailed me the following: "I’m on a boat about 1km off shore from Port Darlington and had (presumably) a juv brown booby fly past. Initially thought was a gannet, but seemed smallish and overall brown without any sort of spotting. Underwing also brown without black patch or other distinctive feature. Was about 30ft from the boat and continued in a straight line to the east maintaining height about 5ft off the water. It passed the boat at 1:12pm. "
If I hear any other details I'll post them here.
