Hi folks: an afternoon update on the Slaty-backed Gull in Mississauga. 1-
Before 2 pm it was feeding on a fish at the mouth of Cookville creek. Then it
flew, perhaps because of a RT Hawk overhead) 2- I re-found it (at 2:05 pm)
flying near the Ridgetown moored boat ( Port Credit ) and it landed on water
near Tall Oaks park ( Elmwood Ave., Mississauga) where it stayed, guarding a
floating dead fish, until 2:55 pm when it flew and sat on the Rocks guarding
Port Credit Marina, near the moored boat. 3- it flew again and was over the
Port Credit Marina at 3:05 pm, then flew over the lake ( with many boats and
skidoos). In the HSA geographical region!! 4- at 3:40 pm, I checked back the
Cooksville Creek (RK McMillan park)area, but no luck. Left at 4 pm
Best of luck
Luc Fazio
