August 26 and 27, a very rare BROWN PELICAN on the breakwalls at Dunkirk Harbor, on Lake Erie in Chautauqua County. On the 27th, a juvenal LAUGHING GULL at the source of the Niagara River, seen between Fort Erie, Ontario and the West Side Rowing Club in Buffalo. Also this week, an unexpected sighting of an AMERICAN BITTERN, road-running across Route 400 at Jameson Road in Elma. You may report sightings after the tone.
