Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Tom Bolohan

Observers:

Visitors:
Thanks to Tom B for doing today's count.

Weather:
Pretty much solid cloud cover for the day and light winds that started from
the NE for the morning before swinging all the way around to the S and SW.
Temps were cool starting at 5C and getting to a high of 8C. Humidity stayed
fairly high today and the pressure was steady.

Raptor Observations:
Well, turned out it was a much better day than I had expected although the
latter part of the flight did move inland away from the main site. Still,
there were many more birds on the move through the Hawk Cliff area possibly
because it was a good movement the day before that brought them down to
Lake Erie so they were "in the pipeline".

The total birds for the day was 4087 with the bulk being TVs (3135) as
always at this point in the migration. However, Redtails (492) and
Red-shoulders (265) continued to push through along with good numbers of N.
Harriers (18) and Sharpies (137).

Highlights today were several Golden Eagles (11) and another lone
Rough-legged Hawk.

Non-raptor Observations:
Tom reported 3 Sandhill Cranes flying past in the afternoon.

Predictions:
Tomorrow winds are forecast to start again from the NE which should help
get the flight going but then it will again swing around to the S which
will push the flight inland. Fingers crossed for a decent flight as
tomorrow is the OFO outing to Hawk Cliff.
