Weather: Moderate to strong W gusty winds today. Cold to start at -2C and temps were steady getting to just -1C. Very few clouds in the morning but cloud cover building in by noon. Raptor Observations: A fairly small flight today which isn't surprising given the fairly stiff W winds which are headwinds for any raptors trying to make their way westward along Lake Erie. Total birds today was just 83 with a single N Goshawk in the first hour and small numbers of other species during the count with Redtails (49) accounting for the bulk of the flight. Non-raptor Observations: None reported. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
