Posting for Markus Legzdins. Hey, everyone! My name is Markus and I was one of the finders of the Hepatic Tanager that showed up on May 14 in Shell Park. Following on the tradition of the Marsh Sandpiper found in the province a couple weeks ago, others and I would like to explore the impact of this rarity through anonymous voluntary survey.
The purpose is to summarize the potential impacts and patterns of this aspect of our pastime, and hopefully identify some potential ways to enhance the experience for Ontario birders and communities. We plan to summarize the results of these surveys in an upcoming edition of Ontario Birds. If you anyone in this group ventured out to see the Hepatic Tanager, please consider completing the Ontario Rare Bird Impact Survey: https://forms.gle/ZpNXBgJvmm6fmdaS7 Thanks for your attention. Good birding! Stu ____________________ -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
