Posting for the Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch:

The NPH is pleased to announce that our *Raptor Identification Course* will
be offered again this winter, just in time for the spring raptor migration
season. The course is designed to teach you how to identify Ontario
raptor species
seen perched or in-flight.

Species covered will include the Red-tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk,
Rough-legged Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper’s Hawk,
Northern Goshawk, Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Northern Harrier, Osprey,
American Kestrel, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Turkey Vulture, and Black
Vulture.

Dates: Every Monday and Thursday night at 7 pm.  January 5th, 9th, 12th,
16th, 19th, (one week break) then January 30th, February 2nd, 6th and 9th.
Each session will run between 60 and 90 minutes. Recordings will be
made of each
session and made available to all registrants until March 1st.

Fee: $48.00, of which 50% is a donation to the Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch
