?Well, let?s start with the obvious. After being discovered late yesterday nearby, a WILLOW PTARMIGAN was seen and stayed at the Tip for most of the morning. At last report it has disappeared, but stay tuned to the bird alerts if it returns. About 15 species of warbler have been noted thus far. Other birds at the Tip include RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, BLACK TERN, and HAIRY WOODPECKER. A few new birds seem to have arrived, but the southern part of the park is pretty quiet. Flycatchers are being seen a bit more today. There are now 4 PROTHONOTARY WARBLERS on the Woodland Nature Trail. Two males have been singing and chasing each other near Bridge B and there are two more at Bridge F. There has been an immature Norther
n Goshawk has been spotted over the Visitor Centre. Other raptors have been noted including RED-SHOULDERED and BROAD-WINGED HAWK. A PINE WARBLER was seen in the Cactus Field. A SORA is still being seen on the Marsh Boardwalk. And a VIRGINIA RAIL was noted along the Delaurier Trail.
