Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Chris Burris

Observers: Dave Brown

Visitors:
We were happy to greet a umber of visitors throughout the day, and are
grateful for all those who helped us spot kettles and stream throughout the
day... as they were often stunningly high up.

Weather:
Temps ranged from 6C to 17C; winds began modestly from the NE, switching to
a weaker N and eventually NW. Cloud cover was extremely variable.

Raptor Observations:
Simply a GREAT day, with over 3000 tallied, including first-season
Red-shouldess and Rough-leg, along with 13 Broad-wings and a few
Peregrines. All told, we spotted 13 of 15 of our regularly occurring
species.

Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptor sightings certainly held our interest when the raptors slowed a
bit: Warblers included Blackpoll, Northern Parula, and Cape May. We were
stunned to discover after the fact that a mostly concealed, poorly seen
bird was a yellow-billed Cuckoo based on Dave B.'s record shot. Finally, we
had a pale-throated *Cave Swallow* pass directly over the viewing platform
at 113am. Something for everyone!

Predictions:
Winds begin strainer NE than today (good), but are forecast to be straight
E by mid-day (not so good). Partly sunny conditions mean that birds will be
moving -- the big question mark is how many will move past the Cliff.
