Observation start time: 09:00:00
Observation end time: 11:00:00
Total observation time: 2 hours

Official Counter: Hugh Kent

Observers: Liz Kent, Mike Jaber

Visitors:
Thanks to Mike for helping out in the two hours we were on the Tower today.

Weather:
A very strong wind from the south west with horizontal snow flakes.
Overcast with a temperature of 0c, feeling more like -7c with the wind.

Raptor Observations:
We were nearly blown off the Tower for a couple of hours to no avail. No
raptors were seen migrating, although there were 6 Bald Eagles loafing
around the marsh, disrupting the lives of the ducks.

Non-raptor Observations:
Understandably small list today, ducks were sheltering where they could. We
did a quick count from the second floor of the Tower, where we could find a
bit of shelter to look through a telescope. Interestingly there were no
Mute Swans visible, they must have a good place to shelter. The list is at
https://ebird.org/checklist/S155337952

Predictions:
The forecast is for a bit calmer day tomorrow, though with still a moderate
to strong wind from the west north west. It will be very cold, the day
starting at -5c rising to -2c by midday. No precipitation is forecast. The
wind may still discourage flight, but to a lesser extent than today. We may
see some raptors hopefully.
