In the past week I have seen Snow Geese in the Winchester area. Yesterday I had a flock of about 3000 south of Winchester Springs in a field on the west side of Hwy 31. It was about 7:15 a.m. The birds may have overnighted there because I had seen a much larger flock in the exact spot a week before but they all lifted off by 8:00 a.m. This was not a field where they could have been feeding.
After leaving this area I had over 2000 in a flooded field on Cty Rd 38 south of Winchester. From the traffic light on Hwy 31 south of town, turn west at the BMR store (going east is Cty Rd 43). The flooded field is 2 km west of the light. I had a Ross's Goose in with the flock.
