---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Festival of Birds <[email protected]> Date: Thu, May 15, 2025 at 11:18 AM Subject: Point Pelee NP Migration Report -May 15 To: bird news <[email protected]> Good morning birders. The rain has held off and birders are locating many species in the Park. About 20 species of warbler have been noted. That includes Blackpoll and Canada Warblers. At the Tip, about a dozen AMERICAN WHITE PELICANs were on the sand and in the water. Also noted was a 1st summer LITTLE GULL and there was a report of a 3rd cycle CALIFORNIA GULL. There were a few shorebirds also, including RUDDY TURNSTONE, DUNLIN and a RED KNOT. Several BLACK TERNs were seen flying past the tip. In the south winds, during the Reverse Movements (migration) a EURASIAN COLLARED DOVE was noted along with everything from a GNATCATCHER to BLUE JAYS. A number of YELLOW-BILLED and BLACK-BILLED CUCKOOS have been noted in the Park today, including in Tilden Woods, Chinquapin Oak, West Beach, and Post Woods Trails. Just where Tilden Woods meets Shuster Trail there were two CANADA WARBLERs. There was also a WHITE-EYED VIREOS and a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER seen on Redbud Trail. Good birding!
