Weather: Another day of relentless sun. Winds near the ground began moderate ENE, shifting to E and weakening by midday; nevertheless, a few high wisps appeared to be on a NW vector. Temps from 10C to 19C. Raptor Observations: A modest flight -- Turkey Vultures are clearly moving, along with the first trickle of larger Buteos. Non-raptor Observations: The most notable non-raptor was a single Cackling Goose dwarfed by its 7 Canada flight mates. eBird list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S276750411 Predictions: Thursday's calling for E & SE, so a modest flight at most is expected. Although the SW winds predicted throughout Friday would ideally be stronger, the time is right for some Peregrines to be moving through. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Chris Burris ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm More site information at hawkcount.org: https://hawkcount.org/siteinfo.php?rsite=392 -- Ontbirds and Birdnews are moderated email Listservs provided by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) as a service to all birders in Ontario.
