Paul Eggert and I discussed the inconsistent spelling of lookahead some time ago. I'd like to get this taken care of.
Here are the statistics I know of. The Open Group's yacc spec, "lex & yacc" published by O'Reilly, and the dragon book (as I recall) all use "lookahead". Today, google returns 175,000 hits for `parser lookahead'. It only returns 103,000 hits for `parser "look-ahead"' and that includes hits on "look ahead". Google Scholar is also in favor of "lookahead" but not by as much. Paul found similar results from Google Scholar in January. If I hear no objections to "lookahead" within a few days, I'll start sweeping through Bison with this change. Joel
