Hello Christian,

Thanks for your question.

No. I've been using one machine only.

The directory where snapshots live was duplicated - coincidentally that is the
first time I plug my external SSD (where snapshots live) to my computer after
an upgrade from Trisquel Nabia 10.0 (based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa))
to Aramo 11.0 (Jammy Jellyfish).

This is the usual path to BiT on the external SSD:
/media/redactedusername/time-machine/backintime/

This is the duplicated path:
/media/redactedusername/time-machine1/backintime/

$ ls /media/redactedusername/time-machine1/backintime/x220/redactedusername/1/
Display all 586 possibilities?

I do not have permission to list:
$ ls /media/redactedusername/time-machine/
ls: cannot open directory '/media/redactedusername/time-machine/': Permission
denied

How can I check? I don't remember. This backup profile was created in ~2021.

Mark
