I'm trying with some friend to avoid the tool we can avoid to use "ai
slope". We heard the rsync did that, for instance :
https://github.com/RsyncProject/rsync/pull/903
I am aware of the "rsync-situation" and its details.
It isn't that worse as it looked in the first place. But the
communication
from the rsync project has potential for improvement of course.
Check out the rsync mailing list or the maintainers blog for the latest
statement on that issue.
Check out the commits and details regarding each reported issue.
The current maintainer has an extreme high reputation for decades
in the FOSS world. Despite the fact that he is using some AI tool, like
every other coding tool, I am sure he takes responsibility for every
line
of code he submits to the project.
That is different from first grade students bombing me and other FOSS
projects with vibe coded PRs.
Keep also in mind that there is always the linux distribution
(e.g. Debain GNU/Linux) packaging rsync and reviewing it, too.
In the end you have a high quality package, checked multiple times by
several people and instances.
Thanks for reaching out
