This really doesn't help binary-based distributions, since the command
available on my system when I build a package may not be available on
your system when you run it.

I suggest you default to the safest option, and trust the package
maintainers to patch the desktop file appropriately.

Bug description:
The desktop file for starting Back in Time as root uses kdesudo which seems to 
be an Ubuntu (Kubuntu) specific program. In Gentoo this program doesn't exist. 
Instead kdesu should be used. kdesu is part of KDE so it should be available on 
all Linux distributions.
