Final version of patch for HEAD of 1.6 branch.
Ok, so I here's updated version, based on hrw's patch (few issues and typos
fixed). Tested to behave as expected (if there's no module dir under
${DL_DIR}/svn, svn co is performed there; otherwise, just update against that
dir).
