Summary: Dependency error lacks information
Product: BitBake
Version: unspecified
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: BitBake
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
QAContact: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
This is about Bitbake 1.8.0.
Trying to build a package with a not existing dependency you get an error
message like this:
ERROR: No providers of build target <whatever>
This is not really true most of the time because there is a provider for the
selected target exists but it is not buildable because of the missing
dependency. I recommend to propagate the information about the missing
dependency to the user in order to improve the usability.
