  quite right, i stand corrected, easy enough to fix.  but other than
that, would the above instructions be a good summary for bitbake
installation?

  ah, and what is that incantation?  a quick perusal of the setup.py
script shows "build" and "clean" actions, but i'm not a python expert
(yet) so i may just be missing it.  and once that's resolved, i can
add that to the recipe above for completeness.
