Thanks for your help! That was surprisingly easy, I didn't even need to set SRCREV_FORMAT. Sorry for the noise.
PS Is there documentation somewhere for SRCREV_FORMAT in case we need to use it in the future? I don't see it mentioned in either the bitbake or OE manual.
