Er, pysco won't make any difference in this case, it just gives a minor performance improvement. I think various people have had bitbake running on a mac at certain points in time but there are known issues with trying to build the metadata on macs. It sounds like some issue has crept into bitbake too. You could try adding debug options like -DDD to see where its having problems. Please also include version information in future.
