i do wonder about that experiment; it surely did mostly suck, but on the other hand only having runtime exceptions has lots of suck about it as well -- just different kinds of suck. where is the Right Way to do exceptions that somehow extracts whatever Goodness the options we've seen to date have, while minimizing teh [sic] suck?
