Folks: I feel like I should apologize for some of my tone in this thread. I'm desperately trying to get the first BitC release locked down, life here is severely crazy, and I was definitely a little cranky last night.
Several people have asked valid questions here. For those of you interested in GC, there is an enormous literature. The page at http://www.memorymanagement.org/bib/f.html is a good place to start, in particular Paul R. Wilson's grand (if now dated) survey on Uniprocessor Garbage Collection Techniques. The other good source is the book "Garbage Collection: Algorithms for Automatic Dynamic Memory Management" by Richard Jones. Expensive but very much worth it. For those of you (notably Pal) interested in very small targets, I can only say that we need to focus on one problem at a time. Finally, can I please ask people to remember to change the subject line when you introduce a new topic? Failing to change the subject line makes it very hard to find these discussions later! Sorry. _______________________________________________ bitc-dev mailing list [email protected] http://www.coyotos.org/mailman/listinfo/bitc-dev
