It seems compatible with Unicode combining characters, so I'm happy. I
should have mentioned it earlier, but I've actually been using these for
some mathematical notation in code (such as putting hats and tildes on
things). It's possible this will become more common in the future.
(Colleagues of mine have expressed interest.)

One comment is that, if the compiler were to ever emit code after layout
processing (say as a debugging option), it would be much nicer if it could
insert the semicolons at the end of the lines terminated, rather than at the
beginning of the next one. Similar for braces.
