re CIL , thinking further and using the GC as well as ref counting is not likely to be effective ( you need to do teh GC newobj work yourself the cost of which and will be far too expensive ) ( winrt does both which threw me but ref counting is only on winrt exposed components ) . And the jit would need to be altered because it hooks into the GC , maybe on mono which has a changable GC you can change it to just an allocator . Though i supose LLVM direct is better since you get better benches , can do JIT and static and the GC support limitation is less relevant
