I have some test code that I am experimenting with on the testnet. I tried to send 0.0002718 from my wallet to an adddress that is part of the wallet. What the console output which is at the bottom of the gist shows is Sends 0.0027134 BTC and receives 0.0025999 BTC, total value -0.0001135 BTC.
