Any chance of an emacs mode for an SQL shell (I know the have sql-mode
for editing SQL). I know they have some specialized shell support,
like matlab-shell, and you can scroll right left in emacs. But
sql-shell.el turned up zippo on google and google groups...
I sometimes make a very wide xterm that spans several desktops under
GNOME, and have a keybinding to move between the desktops left and
right, which is effectively like scrolling the xterm horizontally.
This works quite well. Or I just do my SELECTs a little more
carefully :).
