Apparently there's a (new!) severe security threat posed by many versions of telnet currently running on many BSD-based unices (Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, some flavors of Linux, etc.). The story: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/55/21438.html So those of you foolish enough to be running telnet on boxes open to the outside world (John) should check out your vulnerability and patch it.
