If anyone has telnet access, try going to this IP address: 212.169.36.1

The address has no name resolution, and is just sitting there - an open
relay telnet port to any other system. This same IP was used to send out
tens of thousands of bulk spam to non-existent users on www.rexx.com (a
small ISP in Los Angeles), flooding the mail servers and causing what
amounts to a denial of service attack.

If I personally had the resources to do so, I would find a way to retaliate.
Forget the ISP hosting him (I believe it is Verio) and allowing him to
continue to relay spam through several of their servers; they've made it
clear that they will not do anything about it.

Doesn't it seem odd, though, that an open relay like this (which could be
used for potentially covering the tracks of terrorist communication &
activity over the internet) would be allowed to remain open at a time like
this?

It would be nice for the FBI or other law enforcement & government agencies
to look into this, but I don't seem to be able to contact any of them (no
surprise when you consider how busy they all are at the moment).

Therefore, I'd like to appeal to anyone & everyone who has the capability to
find out who this is, what they are doing, and stop them. Thanks!
