I just tried using the new beta Java 1.4 browser plugin on my Linux box
(Mandrake 8.1, kernel 2.4.8) with netscape, galeon and mozilla (basically
the latest versions of each: ns 4.78, gal 0.12.1, moz 0.9.4), the
results: netscape froze the first time it hit a page with embedded java,
and neither galeon nor mozilla would even start up (they both explicitly
barfed on initializing the plugins). So I's say use it with caution if at
all. I'm sticking to plugin 1.3.0_01 for the time being.

"O, little rose-tree, bloom!
Summer is nearly over.
The dahlias bleed,
The phlox is seed,
Nothing is left of the clover.
And the path of the poppy no one knows---
I would blossom if I were a rose."
