Yeah, i have a downloaded 2.95.3 that i got from sunfreeware.

Following the INSTALL instructions as closely as possible.
i have an OBJ dir and am doing /path/to/src/configure ; make bootstrap

And its the 'make bootstrap' part it dies at.
