Hey all,

I'm on a rather large yahoogroup with > 1200 subscribers. We're getting
tired of the privacy policy changes, the lag (sometimes it's taking 4
days for a post to get through) and the downtime every time the FBI
installs/removes carnivore for some other group.

Are there any open source apps that are a list server....while at the same
time representing the postings in 'blog form as well? The blog postings
and threads would have to be sent out via mail and the mail postings
would have to show up in the blog by thread. There also is the need for a
events/scheduling functionality so that reminders can be automatically
posted, file upload functionality with bolg/mail notification, and the
ability for users to create/edit databases.

I know thats a tough order to fill. I just want to know if there's
something out there that will do this before I perpetrate a hodgepodge of
mailman, some blog, cron, some thread identification code and mysql. It
would have to handle 50-400 postings a day, distributed by various means
(mail/digest/blog) to 1200+ subscribers.
