Arg, that was way too long.. I was really tired.. I didn't mean to dump such
a monster email to the list..I tried to explain way way too much incidental
background crap.. forgive..

Had I been thinking cogently (ie awake), I would have simply asked:
1.. Generally, how vulnerable are externally accessable cisco2620's? Aside
from assigning a different management IP, there doesn't seem to be a whole
lot else I can do. Im not exactly a cisco guru though (uh, no shit..), so
I'm probably missing something..
2.. Is there any reason to go with an unnumbered-ip WAN ptp if I have plenty
of subnet?
3.. Is there any reason why putting a private network connecting the two
WAN-facing serial interfaces of the routers is a bad idea - are there any
routing benefits to using real IP's or a contiguous network for the WAN
segment?

not life or death here, I just dont wanna miss any glaring problems with
this setup if I can help it..
