        You are correct, sir.

        hosts.(allow|deny) are for tcpwrappers.  You can install them
        on Solaris, if you like.  It involves passing all the services
        listed in inetd.conf to pass through the tcp wrapping daemon.

        sshd may have its own access control system.  I've never used it.
