I found a package of bash completion functions.  It will do things like
parse your .ssh/known_hosts file so you can to tab-completion on
hostnames.

Also parses configure scripts so you can do completion on --with-XXX
options.

tcsh has programmable completion too, so i'm sure there's a package for
that too somewhere.  Of course, i don't use it, so i don't really care.
