Yes, believe it or not I need to ideally test on a consumer-level box c.1998, so kind of the simpler the better, with only the following core specs:
- cpu: PII 400MHz (a bit higher or lower ok etc) - HD: IDE, at least 6.4 GB or thereabouts (preferably less than 8GB though but I'll take what I can get!) - ram: 64MB SDRAM (fairly slow SDRAM though I imagine) - mobo/chipset & video card: Anything mainstream from that period I think will do - LAN card: It would be nice to get a 10/100 card from this era, but a 10bt would do nicely as well For my needs the less complicated the better - to minimize driver issues among other things - in that sense, a netfinity or any multiproc, scsi-based or otherwise loaded box might be overkill, but again its seeming harder than I thought to get my hands on stuff so I'll take what I can get So yes, if there's any bits n pieces I could assemble into working box that'd be superb also - Erik, I'll try to call, or email you off list. But since Ideally I'd aquire/build two boxes, I'd scoop up whatever bits et al you guys may have from the period -- thanks all david On Tue, 8 Jul 2003 19:21:59 -0700 (PDT), Erik Curiel wrote: > Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > List-Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > List-Unsubscribe: <http://www.sugoi.org/mailman/listinfo/bits>, > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > From: Erik Curiel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > List-Id: The Bits List <bits.gaffle.com> > Date: Tue, 8 Jul 2003 19:21:59 -0700 (PDT) > Received: (cpmta 12367 invoked from network); 8 Jul 2003 19:23:06 -0700 > Received: from 66.28.117.179 (HELO maria.gaffle.com) > by smtp.c015.snv.cp.net (209.228.35.109) with SMTP; 8 Jul 2003 19:23:06 -0700 > Received: from maria.gaffle.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) > by maria.gaffle.com (Postfix) with ESMTP > id 462C95E3D31; Tue, > 8 Jul 2003 19:23:03 -0700 (PDT) > Received: by maria.gaffle.com (Postfix, from userid 512) > id 6EF305E3D51; Tue, > 8 Jul 2003 19:22:00 -0700 (PDT) > Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) > by maria.gaffle.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 631FA5E3D31 > for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, > 8 Jul 2003 19:22:00 -0700 (PDT) > Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII > List-Post: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > X-Received: 9 Jul 2003 02:23:06 GMT > Subject: Re: [Bits] Hitachi Prius or 1998-era box(s)? > In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > X-Mailman-Version: 2.0.12 > X-Beenthere: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > List-Subscribe: <http://www.sugoi.org/mailman/listinfo/bits>, > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Precedence: bulk > Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > MIME-Version: 1.0 > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > List-Archive: <http://www.sugoi.org/pipermail/bits/> > > > I have bits and pieces of several PII servers.
