Not exactly a great reccomendation I know, but I'd sort of suggest at least looking into focalhosting.com even though their support is really sporadic - sometimes its great with awesome feedback/response times, other times utterly nonexistent. It might be better for real clients though since Im not running anything major on their servers, is the thing. They run freebsd (4.8 or I so think), Prices are good though, and secure IMAP mails a nice bonus.. they are flexible with needs too, although they can sometimes promise more than they can really deliver - so not perfect but at least an option..
