most of you have probably already heard that google is planning to enter
the free webmail market (currently dominated by yahoo and hotmail) by
offering it's own version that has up to 1gb of free storage.

they plan to monetarily support this venture by using targeted ads based
on the _content_ of incoming messages.  (/me shrieks in horror)

here is an interesting wired article that goes into the privacy issues
which will no doubt arise from such an application if it is deployed.
