We have wireless at TiVo. It's not the primary access mechanism, every cube also has several Ethernet drops, but folks use it to stay online during meetings or lunch or whenever they're wandering around. It works quite well, but I haven't the faintest idea what hardware IT uses to make it go.
AFA security, even inside the building you have to create a secure VPN connection (using a SecurID token) before you can get access to the network. I'd recommend that at any office. This is the first time I've thought of it, but just off the cuff I don't think it's worth it to go wireless for a large office. Your cable plant only costs you once and the cost isn't that bad when you spread it over a few years. And I think it's safe to say that the scalability and raw throughput of wireless will always lag behind cabled.
