LOL! Tried to fish out Nufone clients eh? "Welcome to the VoIP industry"... LOL! You mean voipers trying to voiper cannibalize fellow voipers? Why can't we work together like a big happy family? Or is there such word "big happy family" ?? :).
I hope people in this group, are more civilized :). I've had the wonderful opportunity to work with many folks in the same business, without fear or reservation in sharing and aiding with technical information & assistance. I think its the only way for us to succeed in the market where there are MUCH bigger players who want to eat little guys running a one or two man operation. Long Live the Little Guys! On another note, I received e-mail about service getting disrupted in Michigan from other sources as well. Not just Nufone, and Sixtel is not the only company trying to fish out more clients. A number of my Michigan dudes work at Telesthetic, and they call it "Tele-Pathetic". Apparently, Telesthetic has done exactly the same to other companies, not just Nufone. Attached below is an article posted today sent to me via e-mail by one of the dudes! I think Telesthetic, from the complaints I have heard & that are piling up, is ambitiously looking forward to a civil & criminal suite pretty soon. >From what I hear from many American folks, this action of Telesthetic is an >established pattern of behavior. Please don't shoot me! I'm merely the messenger!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 300 phone lines shut down amid confusion Web-posted Apr 26, 2006 Residents say Michtel, AT&T give conflicting stories By GARY GOSSELIN Press Business Editor PONTIAC - About 300 Michtel Communications home and small business phone customers have been without service since Friday night due to what Michtel calls a misunderstanding. Advertisement But what Cliff Suhr calls it is a run-around that's costing his Waterford-based business Big Apple Bagle a big loss of business. "We lost service sometime Friday night after closing, we've had no service since Saturday morning, Suhr said. "I don't have any way for customers to call or fax lunch orders in, I can't run credit cards - I've lost all this credit card business - so I'm high and dry here getting different stories from (Michtel) and AT&T." Michtel, a Pontiac-based About 300 Michtel Communi cations home and small business phone customers have been without service since Friday night due to what Michtel calls a misunderstanding. But what Cliff Suhr reseller of phone service, was going to have its wholesale line rates doubled by AT&T, said Michtel general manager Tony calls it is a run-around that's costing his Waterford-based Big Apple Bagel a big loss of business. "We lost service sometime Friday night after closing, we've had no service since Saturday morning," Suhr Yangouyian, so they could not sign the new contract. "We never knew that they were going to shut them off, we were trying to come to an agreement with (AT&T) for a year," said Yangouyian. "The thing is I never knew they were going to shut these people down. If I'd have known that I would at least extended (a contract) for a while." The increase comes as a result of a Michigan Public Service Commission decision last year to allow AT&T to raise rates. Those rate hikes didn't hit Michtel until now because of an existing contract that needed to be renewed this month. Yangouyian said his company switched about half of its customers to Internet-based service, and said he fi gured AT&T would just switch the other half right over to AT&T service when the contract lapsed. They did not. "That's not true, it's his responsibility to notify end users or customers of any change in service. From our perspective that point is very clear," said Jerry Lawrence, AT&T spokesman. "Many other competing carriers like Michtel have explored other agreements with AT&T There are other options, and those (businesses) are continuing to do business with consumers today." Suhr says Michtel told him AT&T would switch him over, but has been told by AT&T to have Michtel reconnect him. Lawrence said business customers should call (800) 660-5012 and residential customers should call (800) 244-4444 and tell them they would like to establish service - with the same number. He said getting service should not be a problem. "I want to stress we didn't know this was the outcome. We thought AT&T would just switch them over," said Yangouyian, noting one of the owners of his company in Chesterfield Township was also cut off. "I really feel for these people, but I can't turn them on because I didn't turn them off. Why would I sit here and go through this all day if I could fix it?" Yangouyian said he was meeting with his attorney Tuesday afternoon but said he has no solution for those customers to get their numbers back. Two calls to AT&T were not returned. Michtel also owns GigaTrans, a wireless broadband company that is also working on Wireless Oakland. The companies are staying in business, said Yangouyian, and they will continue to operate. Get in touch Michtel customers who have lost service can call AT&T to have service connected with the same number.
