Michael,

In my opinion, you should always have a firewall in front of your servers. The default configuration of [EMAIL PROTECTED] is not secure, since it's intended deployment is on a LAN behind a firewall. If I recall everything is open on it. Next would be the intended size of your deployment. [EMAIL PROTECTED] is great for a quick small scale PBX, but if your going to want to scale it up I'd suggest a manual installation, with MySQL and if your using a web front end Apache on separate servers.

Just my 2cents

Mike

Hi folks, can any of the seasoned veterans out there tell me how safe it is to deploy Trixbox on the internet? Is installing a FW a good idea? What about Fail2ban? Is it a good idea to install the full gamet of Trixbox? or should I only install the components I need? I want to run a Calling Card operation on my box and don't know if all the extra components of Trixbox would slow my box down or even make it vulnerable to an attack!
