Hi All, The IT360 trade show and conference went very well, it was a crazy 3 days. A big thanks to everyone who staffed the booth answering hundreds of questions, and to those who volunteered to speak. All the feedback has been positive so far.
There was a fairly long list of people helping out, so I'm just going to take a moment to name names ;-) Bruce Cole from IT360, and his fantastic staff for bringing the whole conference together and making an investment in the future of telephony. Also for the booth space and complimentary passes for our draw. Evan Leibovitch from CLUE.ca for planting the thought of a telephony conference in Bruce's head, and for all his hard work organizing the Asterisk track, and getting sponsors on board. Keith Major from Aquarius Telecom, Stephan Monette from Unlimitel, Ian Darwin, and Dave Donovan for putting together our flashy new flyers. John Van Ostrand from Net Direct for loaning us his booth gear, and even driving all the way out from Waterloo to set it up and tear it down. Those bar chairs were a life saver, and the booth looked really top-notch. All our booth staff who took the time out of their schedules to staff the booth: Henry Coleman, Keith Major, John Van Ostrand, Reza Mosaddeque Reza, Jim Van Meggelen, Leif Madsen, and everyone else who popped in. It was great seeing everyone there representing TAUG and spreading the idea that sharing knowledge and information is a good thing. Digium for coming on as a sponsor, and flying Kevin Fleming, Josh Colp, and Aaron Daniel here to give talks. Matt Florell from ViciDial and FAUG, as well as Reza for their talk on ViciDial at our packed TAUG meeting Tuesday night. Aastra and Polycom for the handsets that they've donated to our loaning pool (the Aastra 55i will be available at our next meeting). I hope everyone had a great time, and I apologize if I've left anyone out. Our next meeting will be around May 30th, and will be a two parter. The first half will be introductory Asterisk to welcome our new members, and the second half will be on an advanced topic (please send me your suggestions!). Cheers, spd
