Mike, I don't think you'll really have much luck with a VOIP phone and an external ringer in the traditional sense.
Your best bet might be to use an ATA or an FXS card, put that in a ring group with the VOIP phone and then use an external ringer on the FXS line. Then the phone will ring normally and the ATA will trigger the external ringer. Dave On 6/5/07, Mike Dancy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
this might be a silly question. but on a 'regular' phone system, I can plug an external ringer into the 24v jack and get power to it. Is there a way of hooking up an external ringer to a IP phone setup? I don't think that PoE would push enough power to the ringer. any thoughts would be appreciated. mike
