Have you considered using a product such as the Dock-n-Talk by phonelabs? http://www.phonelabs.com/ It allows you to connect your cell phone (GSM or CDMA) into an analog phone line. You could take that line and run it into your asterisk box.
I have used the dock-n-talk for many years (just by itself with my cell phone) and it is quite good. If you are interested, and you think it may solve your need, my company can source them in for you. Cheers! Essentially, I want to be able to make and receive calls from/to Asterisk via the GSM cellular network. Any pointers? Thanks and have a great day!
