No, but they do require a letterheaded fax with that name on to
authorise various things, which is not quite the same thing :)

Note - many of the low cost tag holders charge extortionate fees for
allowing people to move their domains elsewhere!!!
You do need the company name and registration numbers if you go
for the less often used .ltd.uk or .plc.uk domains.
