Wow, isn't it early to declare all out war? I, too, am still interested in RSPs who would like to consolidate. Whether you are big or small, we can probably create a win-win situation. Well, I suppose come next february, the aniversary of many RSPs, we will see which RSPs didn't survive the first year. I suppose Tucows will have to deal with some of the confused customers who are left hanging. Maybe they have a plan to offer these customers the services of domaindirect? But what if the customer paid only $15 or less for registration the previous year? This gets complicated. If you are an RSP who is going out of business, it would be a good idea provide your customer's contact info to another RSP before you go under, whether you are compensated for it or not, since some customers might feel they have legal grounds to go after an RSP who doesn't look out for their interests, perhaps causing them to lose their domain registration. Could we hear from the legal dept. at OpenSRS on this? Is there something I am overlooking? Unless there are rules against this at OpenSRS, and depending on the value of the customer list, pacificdomains.net is interested in purchasing customer lists from any RSP that is planning to go out of business.
