Good afternoon,
Obviously we collect the information about users, to be used for
security
announcements and new releases: it is not a spam list, but we have had
a
case of several bugs in the past and had no way of letting users know
that
they should upgrade. Given the extremely serious nature of the software
it is absolutely important that we're able to contact users in the
future
to let them know should any serious problem be found.
The information is placed into the SQL database, and never shared with
any
third parties. I will post a formal privacy policy on the site later
tomorrow probably. We also will maintain a full unsubscribe list to
keep
track of users who do not wish to receive information.
Please note that the term "newsletter" is wrong. Thats what our
programmer called the value, but there is no newsletter to be sent.
There is no GPL version: we provide the software under the LGPL. I
hope
this answers all your questions.
Sincerely,
)))))

<input type=hidden name=newsletter value="1">
<input type=submit value="Submit">
If you are collecting e-mails to send smth later, you should allow
people, who was going to check you GPL code to check the quality of it,
to opt it out. I won't click submit on this page.
BTW what GPL version you are reffering to?
Are you Collecting/registering people who downloads Open Source / GPL
